COMMUNICATIONS AND DONOR ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR

ROLE SUMMARY
The Communications and Donor Engagement Coordinator is community-facing and service-oriented. This key leader works closely with the Senior Director of Program Development, Executive Director and other leadership to organize, plan, and implement effective communications and donor engagement strategies to support the overall mission and vision of bringing holistic freedom, hope, and restoration to survivors of sexual exploitation. This role is responsible for managing Red Oak Hope’s external and internal communications, promoting a positive public image, and controlling the dissemination of information on behalf of our organization. This role also supports the organization’s identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current and potential supporters.
RESPONSIBILITIES
COMMUNICATIONS

Develop and implement effective communication strategies in alignment with strategic goals.

Manage social media channels, including gathering regular updates from staff, posting, and engaging with comments/DMs.

Produce monthly e-newsletters and periodic online/print materials.

Oversee the website, including content development, design, and regular updates.

Research, identify, and organize regular speaking opportunities for the Executive Director/staff to share the work of Red Oak and build partnerships.

Evaluate the results of communications strategies with the leadership team.

Adhere to the organization’s graphic standards, ensuring that Red Oak Hope produces high-quality and error-free materials.
DONOR ENGAGEMENT

Work closely with staff leadership to create an annual fundraising plan that meets the revenue and strategic goals of the organization.

Provide support in the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors.

Coordinate special events such as the annual gala, donor gatherings, speaking opportunities, etc.

Coordinate and implement mail/e-campaigns. Segment lists for different campaigns, create and maintain a content calendar, and develop content.

Work closely with staff leadership to foster relationships with advocates and key stakeholders.

Manage donor records and all basic donor communication, including website inquiries, thank you letters/calls, and potentially in-person communications.

Support grant request submittals.

Maintain and optimize donor management software (currently Bloomerang). Run donor reports and periodically evaluate results of fundraising initiatives to identify progress, trends, and opportunities for donor cultivation.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Communications, Public Relations, Fundraising or a related field.
-
2+ years proven experience in communications, public relations, fundraising or a related field.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with a variety of organizational stakeholders.

Strong writing, editing, and proofing skills.
-
Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills, including setting priorities and improving on existing processes/systems.

Flexibility and willingness to take on new tasks as the responsibilities of the position evolve.

Commitment to and passion for seeking justice and caring for women, children, and communities who have survived trauma and abuse, as well as a commitment to our core values of excellence, dignity, sustainability, faith, and holistic collaboration.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite required. Experience with donor management software, Mailchimp, and Canva preferred.

LOCATION: Red Oak Hope office is in South Austin. Location is undisclosed until NDA is signed.
HOURS: Full time. M-F. Flexible hours. Occasional nights and weekends for events or donor meetings.
COMPENSATION : $60,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience.

LEAVE/VACATION: 10 days per year during the first two years of employment, 15 days per year during the third and fourth year of employment, 20 days per year during the fifth year and thereafter.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position encounters a variety of daily work situations, including complex situations that require immediate attention and decision making. There may be both routine and complex interpersonal interactions to navigate with care and thoughtfulness. Processes may change based on changing needs of the organization, new technology, or new ideas for efficiency or data collection. Position operates as part of a team and engages in mobile or on-site work that may require time spent sitting, standing, walking up and down stairs, driving, and transporting items. Position works under occasional time constraints to meet objectives, and performs computer work, including using a keyboard, looking at a screen, using the internet, email, phone, and video conferencing.
